In the early nineties, after the monopoly of the federal labor agency for the placement of artists had ended, the founders of dirActor started to establish the first private booking agency for extras and supporting actors in Germany.
Right from the beginning we had a clear focus on developing a tailored software system that should help us to make the booking and accounting process as streamlined as possible, while other agencies for models and actors where still working with paper card files. Integration of communication systems and digital media was also one of the challenges we decided to take, while digial cameras and mobile phones were still a rare sight.
Today our software helps some of the biggest agencies for extras and actors as well as accounting offices and public broadcasting corporations to do their daily business. The system has been designed with the demands of the media industry in mind, but also suits the needs of related businesses that have to deal with media and people.
This success encouraged us to start a separate company that focusses on further developing the software and delivering the services that make life easier for a wider range of customers.
